Crime Scene

John Thomas Cockerell, jun., 32, fisherman ; James Clark, 21, gardener ;and John R. Purchase, 18, baker and confectioner, were brought up, charged with the manslaughter of one Daniel Driscoll. Mr. C. J. Blakeney appeared to watch the case on behalf of the prisoner Cockerell.

BEFORE his Honor Mr Justice Lutwyche (Bio), Acting Chief Justice

John Thomas Cockerill, James Clark, and John Richard Purchase were indicted for having, on September 15 last, at Brisbane, wilfully murdered one Daniel Driscoll.

The Attorney General, with Mr Rutledge, conducted the prosecution , Mr Swanwick appeared for the prisoner Cockerell , and Mr Pring, Q C, (Bio) with Mr Miller (Bio), for the prisoners Clark and Purchase

BEFORE his Honor Mr Justice Lutwyche (Bio)

William Domane was charged with having,on the 27th August last, at the Twelve-mile Corner, on the Brisbane River, feloniously, wilfully, and of his malice aforethought, killed and murdered one William Ronaldson Sewell.

The prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr. Pring (Bio).

Fortitude Valley

On a night a tragedy was enacted in Constance Street, Fortitude Valley, which was kept from the knowledge of the police authorities for nearly five months, principally through the reticence of the victim.

Patrick Hurley, on remand, appeared in custody at the Police Court yesterday, before
Mr Pinnook, P M , charged with the murder of John Ward.

Mr. G. R. Byrne, instructed by the Crown law officers, appeared to prosecute for the Crown.   Mr. Ross appeared for the prisoner.
